MG S6 EV Launching in Nepal With 529km Range and Tech-Loaded Cabin

MG is preparing to expand its electric vehicle lineup in Nepal with the introduction of the MGS6, a mid-size electric SUV, which will compete against the BYD Sealion 7, Deepal S07, and Leapmotor C10.

Positioned as a practical, family-focused SUV, the MG S6 enters a fast-evolving mid-size electric SUV segment where design, range, and tech-heavy cabins now matter more than traditional powertrain specs.

The S6 is built on MG’s Modular Scalable Platform, the same architecture that underpins models like the MG4 EV. It features a sharply sculpted design that gives it a strong, assertive stance.

At the front, angular headlamps and a tightly detailed fascia set the look, with MG drawing inspiration from its Cyberster roadster. The rear gets a full-width LED light bar.  Depending on variant, MG offers 19-inch alloy wheels on lower trims, while higher versions upgrade to 20-inch units.

Inside, the cabin pairs a 12.8-inch infotainment screen with a 10.25-inch digital driver display, balancing tech with usability. Physical controls are retained for key functions, adding practicality in a segment increasingly dominated by touch interfaces. Standard equipment includes heated front seats and Apple CarPlay with Android Auto support.

Similarly, higher trims add wireless charging, ventilated seats, an 11-speaker audio system, a panoramic sunroof, and built-in streaming apps such as YouTube. Safety and structural integrity are backed by a five-star Euro NCAP rating, according to MG.

In terms of practicality, the S6 offers 674 litres with all seats in place, expanding to a substantial 1,910 litres when the rear seats are folded down. A 124-litre front trunk adds extra flexibility, making it useful for charging cables or smaller travel essentials rather than bulk luggage.

Power comes from a 77kWh battery pack supported by DC fast charging capability of up to 144kW. In the internarional market, MG offers two drivetrain configurations.

The single-motor rear-wheel-drive version produces 244 hp and 350 Nm of torque, delivering a WLTP range of approximately 529 km, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant increases output to 361 hp and 540 Nm, while delivering a range of around 485 km.

The RWD variant does 0–100km/h in about 7.3 seconds, while the AWD version cuts that down to 5.1 seconds. Both are electronically limited to a top speed of 200km/h.

Once it arrives in Nepal, the MGS6 will enter a competitive and fast-evolving segment that already includes strong contenders such as the BYD Sealion 7, Leapmotor C10, and Deepal S07. Each of these models is pushing aggressively on technology, pricing, and range, meaning the MG will need more than just specifications to stand out.
